Bareskrim Thwarts Circulation Of 428 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine And 162,932 Ecstasy Items

The Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police during June 2023 carried out a joint operation to crack down on illicit drug trafficking with the Directorate of Customs and Excise and the Directorate of Corrections in Aceh, Riau, and Bali managed to thwart the circulation of 428 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine and 162,932 pills of ecstasy.

"In the joint operation, we managed to arrest 13 suspects," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police, Komjen Agus Andrianto, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, June 30.

The candidate for Deputy Chief of Police said that the disclosure of the drug illicit trafficking case was a collaboration between the Directorate of Drug Crimes (Dittipidnarkoba) of the National Police Criminal Investigation Unit together with the Directorate General of Customs and Excise and the Directorate General of PAS in conducting tracing narcotics trafficking throughout Indonesia.

"This is a collaboration that has been the umpteenth time and will be continued in the future in order to tackle crimes of narcotics abuse throughout Indonesia," said Agus.

Meanwhile, the Director of Narcotics Crime at Bareskrim Polri Brigadier General Mukti Juharsa explained the first disclosure in the North Aceh region by securing the suspect as many as two people. They act as storing crystal methamphetamine in the forest.

"We got this information from colleagues, then we all moved to find the perpetrators. Finally, right in North Aceh, two people were arrested, as many as 348 packages of crystal methamphetamine with a total weight of 348 kg," said Mukti.

In this disclosure, he said, the modus operandi of the perpetrators was 348 kg of methamphetamine drug entering Malaysia through Johor Laut. The prohibited items were observed in a river area near North Aceh, then methamphetamine was stored in the forest.

For the second case, 80 kg of crystal methamphetamine was thwarted with ecstasy of 22,930 pills in Riau. The goods come from Malaysia.a

"From Malaysia, obtained in Dumai, the results of the cooperation between the Criminal Investigation Unit and the Riau Police, Customs and Excise, and Kalapas. This is all part of the joint work itself," he said.

The results of this disclosure were secured by one suspect with the initials H.

While the third case occurred in Bali. In this province, 140 ecstasy pills were found with 10 suspects, namely the initials T, Y, I, U, J, P, R, I, DN, and ID.
