Police Monitor PEN Fund Road Project In Ponorogo
JAKARTA - The Corruption Prevention Task Force at the National Police Headquarters monitors the results of work on road improvement and maintenance projects that use the National Economic Recovery Fund (PEN) in Ponorogo Regency, East Java.
It aims to prevent corruption.
"This activity is a follow-up to the National Police Chief's order to play an active role in efforts to prevent corruption or misappropriation in government projects financed by the PEN program," said member of the National Police's Corruption Prevention Task Force Yudi Purnomo in his statement, Wednesday, June 28.
It is undeniable that this infrastructure development project is prone to criminal acts of corruption.
Of the various cases that have been revealed, the mode that is often used by the perpetrators, for example, lowering the specs, is not in accordance with the contract, bribery, or gratification.
This action can certainly cause state losses. This is because the results of road work cannot be used by the community for a long time in supporting their economic efforts and social activities.
"So the role of the National Police in conducting this monitoring is a form of support for the Government which is expected to have a positive impact on its smoothness and achieve program goals and objectives without a budget leak," he said.
Meanwhile, the Head of the Corruption Prevention Task Force Team, Harun Al Rasyid, said that there were nine road constructions that were monitored for the development and maintenance process from June 26 to 27.
As a result, cracks were found and the road was not completed.

The nine roads include, Jalan Badegan - Tulung, Jalan Kauman - Carangrejo, Jalan Ngambakan-Sampung and Sampung - Parang, Jalan Dengok - Karangan, Jalan Sultan Agung, and Jalan Attorney General - Alon Aloon Utara.
Then, Jalan Pulung Pudak, Jalan Mlarak - Pulung, and Jalan Semanding - Tempuran.
"Only one realization did not reach 100 percent, namely in the Pulung Road Pudak improvement project. Realization only reached 56.6 nine percent because the contractor ran out of capital," said Harun.
