Inter Miami Mission Wants To Be 'Barcelona Mini'
JAKARTA - Inter Miami continues to move to strengthen the team in the face of Major League Soccer (MLS) competition. The club led by David Beckham has a mission to form a team filled with alumni from Barcelona.
The first step has been passed, namely by recruiting Lionel Messi. Then followed up Sergio Busquest.
Now they are in talks to sign former Barcelona coach Gerardo 'Tata' Martino. If Martino is appointed as Inter Miami's new coach, the reunion will be presented.
Inter Miami is currently looking for a new coach after they sacked Phil Neville. The club only occupies the final position in the eastern region of MLS.
"We were in talks with Inter Miami," Martino said before a testimonial match for Maxi Rodriguez on Sunday.
Lionel Messi also appeared in the testimonial match between Newell's Old Boys against Argentina and scored three goals, including from a free kick.
Apart from Barcelona, Tata Martino has also coached the Argentine national team. Now Messi and Tata Martino have the opportunity for a third reunion at Inter Miami.
Later, he will not only have the opportunity to reunite with Messi. Martino was also able to return with his other former Barcelona team, Sergio Busquets.
Busquets followed Lionel Messi and joined Inter Miami after he did not renew his contract at Barcelona.
