Coordinating Ministry For Political, Legal And Security Affairs Holds Coordination Meetings Regarding Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School

The Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Kemenko Polhukam) held a closed meeting with the Ministry of Religion, the Ministry of Home Affairs, the Attorney General's Office, the National Police Headquarters, and the State Intelligence Agency.

Deputy Secretary General of the Indonesian Ulema Council, Ikhsan Abdullah, revealed that the meeting was to handle polemics related to activities and teaching at the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School (Ponpes), Indramayu Regency, West Java. The results of the meeting will then be used as a recommendation to the ranks of ministers and vice presidents.

"I don't know yet, from this meeting, it will be reported to the ministers and vice presidents," said Ikhsan as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 21.

To follow up on the report, a special team will be formed to solve the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School problem. However, the Special Staff (Stafsus) of Vice President Ma'ruf Amin still does not know the members of the special team.

"The point is, the team is to resolve cases that seriously disrupt the harmony, peace and peace that are currently facing jobs that shouldn't be doing that," he explained.

Previously, Vice President Ma'ruf Amin said the government would take steps related to the pros and cons of activities at the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Indramayu, West Java.

"I think later when there are views from NU West Java, from Persis (Islamic Association), then from MUI, I will ask to coordinate at the Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs level to discuss what steps we (the government) should take," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin in Jakarta, Tuesday (20/6).

After a study of the activities at the Al Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, there were irregularities, said the Vice President, there would be a coordination meeting between the Coordinating Ministry for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Polhukam) and the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag).

"I ask to be followed up," said Vice President Ma'ruf Amin.

Not only that, West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil stated that his party formed an investigative team to deal with pros and cons related to activities and teaching at the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School, Indramayu Regency, West Java.

Ridwan Kamil said the team consisted of elements of education, law enforcement officers, the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI), and elements of the West Java Provincial Government (Pemprov).

He ensured that the team worked carefully, fairly, and confirmed.

The West Java governor explained that the investigation team will work starting on Tuesday (20/6) for the next 7 days to produce two points, namely responding to the unrest that exists in the community and collecting data along with complete facts related to the Al-Zaytun Islamic Boarding School.
