Banjarmasin Police Seize 1 Kg Of Crystal Methamphetamine Packaged With Chinese Tea

The Banjarmasin Police Narcotics Investigation Unit, South Kalimantan thwarted the circulation of international network narcotics and confiscated evidence in the form of one kilogram of crystal methamphetamine packaged in Chinese tea and 980 ecstasy pills.

"After going through the investigation process, we searched the perpetrator's house and met with methamphetamine and ecstasy wrapped in Chinese tea packaging," said Head of Narcotics Investigation Unit of the Banjarmasin Police, Kompol Mars Suryo Kartiko, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 12.

Mars Suryo said the methamphetamine and ecstasy were neatly wrapped in Chinese tea packages and were about to be circulated to a nightclub in Banjarmasin City.

"Based on the results of the investigation, the distribution network of methamphetamine has entered Banjarmasin as much as one kilogram per two weeks," he said.

The police are currently investigating further information regarding methamphetamine originating from China and being circulated in Banjarmasin City.

Mars Suryo explained that the disclosure process began when the Banjarmasin Police Satreskoba personnel received information from the public, Tuesday (6/6).

Based on the information received, Mars Suryo said the house, which is located in Manap Baru Village, Kertak Hanyar District, Banjar Regency, South Kalimantan, is often used as a narcotics transaction.

The team conducted observations and investigations around the location and finally managed to apprehend the perpetrator on behalf of HY (46).

The police immediately secured the perpetrator and all evidence to the Banjarmasin Police for further processing.

For this incident, the perpetrator is suspected of Article 112 paragraph 2 of the Criminal Code with a maximum prison sentence of 20 years and a maximum fine of Rp. 8 billion.
