Google Gives Technology-Based Education Development Guidelines For Indonesia
JAKARTA - Some time ago Google released guidelines to help develop technology-based education in Indonesia. This guide was conveyed in a report entitled The Future of Indonesian Education: Five Themes.
Not only that, this report also provides a comprehensive picture of the conditions for the use of technology in Indonesia's current education, as well as recommendations for growing and developing the field of education in the future.
"It feels good that we can release this report and share a vision for technology-based education in Indonesia," said Olivia Husli Basrin, Country Lead, Google for Education in Indonesia in a written statement, quoted Monday, May 29.
"We believe that technology can transform education in Indonesia by increasing access to information, expanding learning opportunities, and encouraging students to actively participate in the teaching and learning process," he added.
The report reveals that around 405,000 teachers have received training on Google tools and more than 14,700 teachers are now Google Certified Educators.
Furthermore, Google also provides several recommendations on how Indonesia can realize the full potential of technology-based education including:

In line with the recommendations submitted in the report, the Minister of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology of the Republic of Indonesia also emphasized the importance of the role of technology and the right products to advance education in Indonesia.
"All efforts to transform education through the policies and the Free Learning movement also need support from the technological aspect so that positive changes can be felt by students and educators throughout the country," said Nadiem Makarim.
"The basic philosophy of digital transformation that we do is to prioritize the needs of users as the main basis for product design so that its use can be sustainable," he concluded.
