WBC MuayThai Appoints New Representative In Indonesia
JAKARTA - Indonesia has a representative in the body of Muaythai Internasional, WBC MuayThai, after XBC Sportech CEO Dr. Urgyen Rinchen Sim was mandated as Chairman of the WBC Committee MuayThai Indonesia.
In an official letter, WBC President MuayThai Colonel Thanapol Bhakdibhumi said the mandate was officially valid from May 9, 2023 until an undetermined time, in which the decision became the discretion of WBC president MuayThai.
"I feel very honored to be the Chairman of the WBC National Committee MuayThai Indonesia. This is an extraordinary mandate and trust. I will try my best to help Indonesian Muaythai athletes to excel more at the international level," said Sim.
As a WBC representative of MuayThai in Indonesia, Sim will carry out the task of promoting Muaythai to the younger generation through a youth development program and developing a professional Muaythai championship at the national level. In addition, representatives and chairman of the national committee are also required to ensure that all battles under WBC MuayThai sanctions comply with unbalanced combat prevention protocols and programs in order to maintain the health and safety of the fighters.
With a task that is not easy, Sim said he would immediately communicate with stakeholders, both national sports and Muaythai, because he believed all stakeholders had the same ultimate goal.
Even though in different ways, I believe we all have the same goal, namely to build Indonesia and fly the Red and White through sports. Therefore, I will meet with all stakeholders, including the minister of youth and sports," he said again.
As a sanctions agency affiliated with WBC MuayThai, WBC MuayThai Indonesia will not be the organizer of the fight but will be the body that gives permission, assigns match equipment, and ensures that all battles run according to WBC MuayThai regulations. Therefore, Sim has started to develop programs that will be the main priority.
We will certainly need match equipment, such as referees, judges, doctors, and match supervisors, who have the ability and are officially certified. In addition, we must also immediately draw up national rankings through a championship that will later compete for the national championship belt. Therefore, we open ourselves to promoters or sporting event organizers who are interested in becoming partners of WBC MuayThai Indonesia," said Sim, who is currently also trusted as Vice Chairman of the Regional Affairs Committee WBC Asian Boxing Council.
WBC MuayThai was founded in 2004 as a non-profit organization under the WBC (World Boxing Council) with the aim of developing a professional Muaythai competition around the world. To date, WBC MuayThai already has representatives in more than 45 countries. In June, WBC MuayThai will hold a WBC Amazing Muaythai World Festival in Venice, Italy.
