These Five Regencies In East Kalimantan Expected Thunderstorms From BMKG Sunday To Monday
BALlikPAPAN - Five of the 10 regencies/cities in East Kalimantan Province are predicted by the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to experience rain accompanied by lightning and strong winds on Sunday -Monday, May 15, so residents are asked to be vigilant.
Meteorological Station Class I forecaster Sultan Aji Muhammad Sulaiman (SAMS) Sepinggan BMKG Balikpapan Yudha Satrio Oktavandi in Balikpapan, Saturday, said the impact of this incident, including floods, overflowing rivers, fallen trees, slippery roads, and landslides.
Information on this weather forecast has been submitted to related parties, including the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), both provincial and district levels, so that mitigation is carried out to minimize its impact on the community.
A total of five districts are forecasted for rain and lightning, namely Berau, West Kutai, Kutai Kartanegara, East Kutai, and Mahakam Ulu, while the other five areas are sunny to light rain, namely Balikpapan, Samarinda, Bontang, West Kutai, Paser, and North Penajam Paser.
Details of the five districts that rain and lightning are that Berau Regency is predicted to occur on Sunday (14/5), around 17.00 WITA in Kelay and Sengah Districts, while other sub-districts have light rain.
At 20.00 WITA rain and lightning have the potential to occur in Maratua, Batu Putih, and Biduk-Biduk sub-districts, while other sub-districts have light rain at that time until Monday (15/5) in the morning.
In West Kutai Regency, rain and lightning occurred on Sunday (14/5), around 17.00 WITA in Muara Pahu, Jempang, and Muara Lawa sub-districts, while most of the other sub-districts had light rain until 20.00 WITA.
In Kutai Kartanegara Regency on Sunday (14/5), at 14.00 WITA, rain and lightning occurred in Tabang District, at 17.00 WITA, as well as in Kenohan District.
