Maserati To Launch The Last Two Models With V8 Engines
JAKARTA - There is good news for Maserati fans. The Italian luxury vehicle brand will release two new models, namely Ghibli 334 Ultima and Levante V8 Ultima.
However, this is also sad news for V8 engine lovers. You see, the two cars will be the last model for the eight-cylinder engine users.
Reporting from Motor1, Thursday, May 11, Maserati will stop production of other V8 engines from Levante, Ghibli, and Quattroporte in Trofeo specifications by the end of 2023. However, it will still be sold in 2024.
Maserati has prepared a replacement engine for V8, namely Nettuno V6 twin-turbo which is fully developed at Maserati factory, Modena, Italy.
The 3.0 liter engine has previously been embedded in the standard MC20 supercar and the mid-engine MC20 Cielo, as well as the latest Grecale and GranTurismo models. The V6 engine has also been embedded in the racing car, MC20 GT2 with a magnitude of more than 621 dk and 730 Nm torque.
Maserati Ghibli 334 Ultima and Levante V8 Ultima will debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in England which will take place in July. Both cars will launch in the Trofeo version.
The last model with the V8 engine also ended Maserati's romantic story with an eight-cylinder engine that has been going on for 64 years.
