Menpora Optimistic Youth Entrepreneurship Program Increases IPP
JAKARTA - The Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo revealed that the success of youth development can be measured through indicators of the Youth Development Index (IPP).
According to him, there are five domains measured in the Youth Development Index (IPP), namely education, health and welfare, field and job opportunities, participation and leadership, as well as gender domains and discrimination.
This statement was conveyed by the Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Indonesia (Menpora RI) Dito Ariotedjo when officially opening the Kick-off of Youth Entrepreneurship Lectures and the Forum Group Discussion Strategy for Synergy of the Deputy Work Program for Youth Development at the Grand Sahid Jaya Hotel, Tanah Abang - Jakarta, Tuesday (9/5) afternoon.
This young Golkar politician explained that Indonesia's IPP in 2019, based on data from Bappenas in 2020, field domains and job opportunities provided the lowest achievement, reaching only an index of 40.0 percent compared to four other IPP compiler domains.
Thus, said Menpora Dito, efforts for field development and job opportunities must produce measurable output and the real benefits of the community, both in the form of motivation and insight as well as competence and skills packaged in the Youth Entrepreneurship Lecture material.
"The development of youth entrepreneurship is very much needed in order to increase the achievement of the IPP," said Menpora Dito.
He said youth entrepreneurship development strategies began by building entrepreneurial mindsets among youth. The Government's policy on a fundamental entrepreneurship development pattern is directed, among others, at creating business motivation and building youth mindsets to create jobs (entrepreneurs), not as job seekers.
"Improving the Quality of Human Resources, especially the field of youth, is our shared responsibility. The success of youth entrepreneurship development must be supported and involved by various parties, both public, academics and the private sector, which are coordinated across sectors both regionally and nationally," he said.
Thus, he said, this activity is the realization of the Government's mandate, so it needs to be carried out correctly and responsibly in order to produce quality young entrepreneurs and ultimately increase the Youth Development Index (IPP) in accordance with the mandate of Law no. 40 of 2009 concerning Youth Services.
"We really hope for you, so that we together try to build good quality quality in providing youth services," he hoped.
In addition, he said, this responsibility is the mandate of the Government in accordance with Presidential Regulation Number 2 of 2022 concerning National Presence Development in 2021-2024, Presidential Regulation Number 43 of 2022 concerning Cross-Sector Strategic Coordination of Youth Service Implementation in 2021-2024.
