PDIP Registers 580 Bakala Caleg To KPU
The PDI-P (PDIP) registered 580 legislative candidates in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu) to the General Election Commission (KPU) today. Of that number, 128 candidates are incumbent.
"Of the 580 legislative candidates, the big ones nominated, of course, also came from members of the incumbent legislature. Everything was re-nominated unless there was another assignment," PDIP Secretary General Hasto Kristiyanto told reporters at the KPU office, Jakarta, Thursday, May 11.
Of that number, there are women's balaleg as many as 380 people or meet the requirements of 33 percent of women's representation to advance in parliament. Then from academia as many as 73 people and retired TNI-Polri as many as 17 people, as well as 14 people from cultural circles.
Hasto ensured that the party's party will continue to improve the quality of legislators candidates. "The chairman of the party's DPP in the field of ideology, Mr. Djarot Syaiful Hidayat, immediately briefed all legislative candidates, so that all candidates are prepared as well as possible," he said.

Meanwhile, KPU Chairman Hasyim said the registered names would be checked again. He also said that he would cooperate with the PDIP technical team to re-ensure the list of names and requirements for entering the complete category or need guidance.
"If after being examined together with the technical team from the KPU and PDIP there are incomplete things, there is an opportunity to complete it until May 14," explained Hasyim.
