Ojol Rider In Padang Hit By A 20-meter-long Tree Dies
A motorcycle taxi driver or ojol with the initials EM died after being hit by a tree while crossing Jalan Perlintas Ranah Parak Rumbio, Padang City, on Monday, May 8 afternoon.
The Head of Emergency and Logistics of the Padang City BPBD Basril said that the ojol driver was hit by a large enough tree and experienced quite severe conditions.
"We evacuated the sinso machine to get the victim out of the tree and took him to the hospital for treatment," he said in Padang, Monday, May 8, which was confiscated by Antara.
He said the fallen tree hit an ojol with a Vario motorbike numbered BA 4828 AAB and died after receiving treatment at the hospital.
According to him, this tree measuring 20 meters long and 80 centimeters in diameter collapsed due to rain and strong winds that occurred in the city of Padang.
"We immediately evacuated this tree so that vehicle traffic can return to normal," he said.

According to him, until now there are four points of fallen trees due to strong winds accompanied by heavy rains that have occurred in the city of Padang, West Sumatra.
"We are deploying personnel to evacuate and collect data from the community if there is a new incident," he said.
BPBDl appealed to the public to stay at home at this time because heavy rains continued with strong winds.
"We invite the public to avoid large and aged trees and be careful if they are forced to leave the house," said Basril.
Previously, the BMKG released moderate and heavy rain accompanied by strong winds and lightning that occurred in the city of Padang on Monday afternoon. This happened in Bungus Teluk Kabung, Lubuk Kilangan, Pauh, Kuranji, Nanggalo and Koto Tangah sub-districts.
