Basarnas Evacuation Of Filipino Citizens Who Experiencing Brain Bleeding On Ships

BANDA ACEH - Banda Aceh National SAR Agency (Basarnas) team evacuated a Filipino citizen who suffered a brain hemorrhage on the ship where he worked.Head of Banda Aceh Basarnas Ibnu Harris Al Hussain said the evacuated Filipino citizen was Jr Ramires Miquel (37)."The Filipino citizen was evacuated from the ship where he worked after experiencing a brain hemorrhage due to hypertension and stroke symptoms," said Ibnu Harris in Banda Aceh, Antara, Monday, May 8.The victim was a crew member of the Panamanian-flagged MV Majestic Island cargo ship. The ship sailed from Bataras in the Philippines to Santos in Brazil.The victim was sick while on a voyage last Sunday at around 14.00 WIB. Then the captain contacted the Basarnas command center via electronic mail and forwarded it to the Banda Aceh Basarnas OfficeEvacuation using the KN Kresna SAR Ship. The ship moved from the Port of Ulee Lheue Banda Aceh to the meeting point with MV Majestic Island in the Bengal Strait, the waters between Aceh Island in Aceh Besar District and Weh Island in Sabang City with a distance of seven nautical miles on Monday (7/5) at 00.20 WIB."After an examination by the health team to prevent infectious diseases and immigration documents, the victim was transferred from MV Majestic Island to KN Kresna. Then the victim was taken to Ulee Lheue Port to be evacuated to a hospital in Banda Aceh," said Ibnu Harris.The evacuation process involved officers from the Port Health Office (KKP), Customs and Excise, immigration, harbormaster, shipping agents, and other related parties.
"Arriving at Ulee Lheue Port, the victim was evacuated to Zainoel Abid Hospital in Banda Aceh for further treatment. With the completion of the evacuation of the Filipino citizen, the SAR operation was closed and all personnel were returned to their respective agencies," said Ibnu Harris.
