NTB - The West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has reopened the file for handling corruption cases in the procurement of corn seeds in 2017 which recorded state losses of Rp27.3 billion.

The corruption case, which previously went through the trial process by imposing a sentence on the four defendants, was re-revealed in the investigation stage of the NTB Prosecutor's Office based on the issuance of letter number: Print-06/N.2/Fd.1/04/2023 dated April 14, 2023.

Spokesperson for the NTB Prosecutor's Office, Efrien Saputera, confirmed the issuance of the investigation warrant.

"Yes, there is. It's just that it's still under investigation, so we can't convey any other information yet," said Efrien in Mataram, NTB, Wednesday, May 3, as quoted by Antara.

In the letter, the prosecutor's office recorded a schedule for summoning the examining committee for the results of the work on the procurement of corn seeds at the NTB Agriculture and Plantation Service (Distanbun).

Related to this, Efrien was reluctant to give a response. He only ensured that every case that was included in the handling of the prosecutor would remain the attention of the settlement.

The corn seed procurement program for farmers in NTB cost Rp48.25 billion. The government divides this procurement program into two stages of work.

In the first phase, with a budget of Rp. 17.25 billion for the procurement of 480 tons of corn seeds, PT Sinta Agro Mandiri (SAM) emerged as the executor.

In the second phase, PT Wahana Banu Sejahtera (WBS) was carried out with a budget of IDR 31 billion for the procurement of 840 tons of corn seeds.
