D+3 Lebaran, There Are 2 Million Vehicles Passing The Trans Sumatra Toll Road

JAKARTA - PT Hutama Karya (Persero) noted, from D-7 Lebaran 2023 or on Saturday, April 15 to D+3 Lebaran 2023 or Tuesday, April 25 yesterday, a total of two million vehicles had crossed the Trans Sumatra Toll Road (JTTS) which was managed by Hutama Karya. This figure increased by 38 percent when compared to normal traffic volume.

EVP of the Operations & Maintenance Division of the PT Hutama Karya Toll Road Dwi Aryono Bayuaji said, specifically, during the 2023 Lebaran backflow, there was a fairly high traffic spike, especially on D+3 Lebaran 2023.

"There are a total of 14,875 vehicles leaving Sumatra via Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar Section which is the final exit of the Trans Sumatra Toll Road or an increase of 29.13 percent when compared to normal traffic volume," said Dwi Aryono in his official statement, Wednesday, April 26.

He appealed to drivers to continue to comply with the provisions, namely driving at a maximum speed of 80 km/hour, checking the condition of the vehicle before driving, ensuring that it drives in prime condition and does not drive sleepy, and ensuring that the balance of electronic money cards is sufficient before traveling.

"Hutama Karya will continue to update the latest developments regarding the volume of traffic at JTTS and urge travelers to be able to comply with the provisions and regulations that apply on toll roads," said Dwi Aryono.

Not only that, Dwi Aryono even predicts that the peak of backflow will occur tonight. "Hutama Karya predicts that there will still be an increase in the volume of vehicle traffic on the 2023 Lebaran backflow tonight, April 26," he concluded.

The following is the details of traffic volume on several Trans Sumatra toll roads on D+3 Lebaran 2023:

- The Bakauheni-Terbanggi Besar section is 75,356 vehicles or 129 percent higher than the normal traffic volume.

- The Terbanggi Besar-Pematang Panggang-Kayu Agung section is 28,569 vehicles or 131 percent higher than the normal traffic volume.

- Palembang-Indralaya section as many as 14,479 vehicles or 125 percent higher than the normal traffic volume.

- Bengkulu-Taba Penjung section as many as 4,186 vehicles or 248 percent higher than the normal traffic volume.

- Pekanbaru-Dumai section as many as 24,025 vehicles or 65 percent higher than normal traffic volume.

- Pekanbaru-Bangkinang section as many as 12,859 vehicles or 215 percent higher than normal traffic volume.

- Medan-Binjai section as many as 57,491 vehicles or 41 percent higher than normal traffic volume.

- The Binjai-Langsa Section 1 (Binjai-Stabat) section is 16,170 vehicles or 120 percent higher than the normal traffic volume.

- The Sigli-Banda Aceh Section 2, 3 & 4 as many as 8,759 vehicles or 298 percent higher than the normal traffic volume.

Meanwhile, the accumulation of additional functional toll roads during Eid homecoming and return flows, including:

- The Sigli-Banda Aceh Section 5 & 6 for the April 15-25 period is 7,349 vehicles passing.

- Binjai-Langsa Section 2 (Stabat-Kuala Bingai/Jalan Proklamasi) for the April 16-25 period as many as 16.514 passing vehicles.

- Indralaya-Prabumulih section for the April 15-25 period as many as 57,711 passing vehicles.

- The Kuala Tanjung-Tebing Tinggi-Parapat section for the April 15-25 period is 114,769 passing vehicles.
