After D+2 of Eid al-Fitr, Nearly 2.1 Million Vehicles Passed Through The Tangerang-Merak Toll Road

JAKARTA - Astra Tol Tangerang Merak recorded that more than 2 million vehicles have passed through the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, from April 12 to 25, 2023.

Uswatun Hasanah, Head of CSR and Public Relations Management Department of Astra Tol Tangerang Merak, stated that the number is a cumulative figure of traffic flow from four Main/Barrier Toll Gates, namely Cikupa Toll Gate, Merak Toll Gate, East Serang Toll Gate, and East Cilegon Toll Gate.

"The total traffic from April 12-25 or the period of D-10 to D+2 of Eid Al-Fitr 2023 is 2,085,713 vehicles with an average daily traffic of D-10 to D+2 of 148,980 vehicles", Hasanah said in her written statement on Wednesday, April 26.

"Meanwhile, compared to the predicted Eid Al-Fitr traffic volume for the same period in 2023, the total traffic volume is lower by 0.42 percent", she added.

The detailed traffic distribution is as follows: traffic towards Tangerang-Merak through Cikupa Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, with a total of 692,056 vehicles, or an increase of 0.90 percent from the average daily traffic.

Then, traffic towards Tangerang-Merak through Merak Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, with a total of 142,180 vehicles, or an increase of 17.07 percent from the average daily traffic.

"Furthermore, traffic towards Tangerang-Merak through East Serang Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, with a total of 236,164 vehicles, or an increase of 9.23 percent from the average daily traffic", said Hasanah.

Finally, traffic towards Tangerang-Merak through East Cilegon Toll Gate on the Tangerang-Merak Toll Road, with a total of 150,418 vehicles, or a decrease of 9.49 percent from the average daily traffic.

Hasanah stated that they would provide a 20 percent toll tariff discount for the longest distance (Cikupa-Merak) and it would be effective from Thursday, April 27, at 06:00 AM WIB to Saturday, April 29, at 06:00 AM WIB.

Moreover, Hasanah reminded road users to always pay attention to their physical condition and vehicle condition during the journey.

"There is a health post available at KM 68 towards Merak for road users who feel tired or unwell", she concluded.
