Indra Sjafri Begins To Relieve The SEA Games Squad In The Trial Against Lebanon
JAKARTA The U-22 Indonesian national team coach, Indra Sjafri, began to streamline his squad for the 2023 Cambodia SEA Games against Lebanon in a test match.
The Indonesia U-22 squad will undergo a trial against Lebanon at the Gelora Bung Karno Main Stadium (SUGBK) on Friday, April 14 at 20.30 tomorrow. This is the trial of the two Garuda troops.
Previously, Indra's squad underwent their first trial last Tuesday against Bhayangkara. At that time, all the players had the opportunity to play the match which ended in a 1-1 draw.
"I understand the quality of the players that we will cone later. Tomorrow night's match will start to convex according to regulations. Change is no longer free," said Indra in Jakarta, Thursday, April 13, 2023.
According to the SEA Games regulations, each national team for football can only bring 20 players. For this reason, Indra must cross out part of the squad that is participating in the current training camp.
Thus, this trial program aims to screen the names that need to be brought. There are still two trials after tomorrow which will be held to determine the final squad later.
"Of course we will use this trial as much as possible. First, of course determine who the best 20 squad will be. Second, finalizing the game plan," he said.
At the SEA Games, Indonesia will be included in Group A with Myanmar, the Philippines, Timor Leste, and Cambodia as the hosts of the biennial event in the Southeast Asia region.
Indonesia will start its journey in the group phase against the Philippines, Saturday, April 29. Following that, Indonesia will face Myanmar (May 4) in a row, Timor Leste (May 7), and Cambodia (May 10).
