Although Prices Of Basic Materials Rise, Jokowi Ensures Stocks Are Available Until Eid 2023
CILEGON - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) ensures that the availability of basic necessities during Ramadan and Eid Al-Fitr 1444 Hijri is still under control, although the prices of some basic needs are quite high.
"If the stock doesn't have a problem. But the most important thing is to keep the price of needs stable or down. That's what we hope for," said Jokowi while visiting Kelapa Market, Cilegon City, Banten Province, quoted by ANTARA Tuesday, April 11.
President Jokowi believes that local governments will take various ways to maintain the price stability of a number of basic needs in their respective regions. This, according to him, is important to do to maintain inflation and people's purchasing power.
"Yes, local governments know what to do to keep inflation from being intervened, how to know everything," said President Jokowi.
President Jokowi's arrival at Kelapa Market, Cilegon City, Banten to check the prices of basic necessities as well as hand over a number of social assistance to traders in the market.
According to the President, the price of a number of basic necessities in Kelapa Market is quite high when compared to prices in a number of markets in other areas. He said the price difference was caused by the distribution process for goods that was still not running well.

"The red onion yesterday in Boyolali was Rp. 26 thousand, while here ( Kelapa Market) is Rp. 35 thousand. Then the garlic is also Rp. 40 thousand. So indeed each region is different, but this shows that the distribution is still not good," he said.
Also accompanying President Jokowi during a visit to the Kelapa Market, Cilegon City was Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, SOE Minister Erick Thohir, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung, Acting Governor of Banten Al Muktabar, and Mayor of Cilegon Helldy Agustian.
