Tesla Soon Announces Drummer Troy Lucketta's Status Resigning From Tour Since 2021

Tesla bassist Brian Wheat said there would be an "official statement soon" regarding drummer Troy Lucketta.

In September 2021, Loketta announced that she would take a break from the tour after her family and friends. Since then, his position on stage has been replaced by Steve Brown, the younger brother of former Dokken drummer Mick Brown.

Recently, Brian discussed the absence of his old bandmate from Tesla's concert in an interview with Thomas S. Orwat, Jr. from Rock Interview Series. Discussions are around whether Troy is still a member of Tesla or not.

"He didn't tour [with us]. There will be an official statement soon. But no. He kind of did his own things, and we did our own things, and we did all those things," Brian said.

"Listen, I love Troy Lucketta; he's my brother," Brian continued.

"We all love Troy. It only comes to a point where we are no longer on the same page about what we want to do. It's not like we had a great fight or anything. It's just that you start like this [approaching two fingers] and sometimes you are like this [with two fingers wide open]. And that gap becomes too wide. And he said, 'Look, maybe it's better if I don't do this.' And we replied, 'OK. Maybe that'.

"He's out, I thought, playing with The Guess Who or something... So he's out playing. So he's not retiring. He doesn't play at Tesla. And who knows? Maybe one day there will be a reunion tour [when we do] the last round... But that's not now. And who knows? Things can always change and anything.

"So, to answer your question, Troy doesn't play at Tesla," Wheat repeated. "Will he come back? Who knows? We'll see. Maybe one day [he will come back]. But right now we are solving all the problems we have to solve."
