Real Madrid Midfielder Federico Valverde Allegedly Beat Villarreal Player In Parking After His Team Lost
JAKARTA - Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde has allegedly punched Villarreal's face, Alex Baena, after the two teams dueled at the Santiago Bernabeu, last weekend.
The Los Blancos player was not angry because of his team's defeat in the match. However, he was reportedly angry with Baena's alleged comments which were accused of insulting his wife.
The comments were allegedly about the pregnancy of Valverde's wife, which Baena made when the two teams met in the Copa del Rey match last January.
However, Baena has denied the allegations via uploads on Twitter.
The feud between Valverde and Baena is said to have peaked after the Madrid vs Villarreal clash in La Liga last weekend.
Valverde kemudian dilaporkan telah menghadapi Baena di tempat parkir mobil di luar Stadion Santiago Bernabeu tempat bus Villarreal berada, demikian menurut The Athletic.
The 24-year-old allegedly poked Baena at the incident, with sources in Spain claiming Villarreal had video footage of the alleged incident.
Marca also claimed Valverde had punched Baena in the face.
In a tweet retweeted by Villarreal's official Twitter account, Baena said. "I'm very happy with the team's impressive win at a place like the Santiago Bernabereu, but at the same time very saddened by the aggression I suffered after the game and was shocked by what happened to me."
"IT'S WRONG THAT I SAID THAT," HE CONTINUED.
Athletic also has a screenshot of a tweet that has now been removed from Villarreal club official, Xisco Nadal. In the post, he branded Valverde "a coward".
Valverde's wife, Mina Bonino, was reported to have experienced complications of her second child's pregnancy earlier this year. However, the baby in the womb is in good health.
In March, Bonino took a picture on Instagram where she told followers she believed her pregnancy had entered the age of six months.
