Premier League Results: Arsenal Held By Liverpool 2-2 At Anfield
JAKARTA – The Gunners, Arsenal remain firm at the top of the Premier League after being held by Liverpool 2-2. The Liverpool vs Arsenal match will be held at the Reds' home ground, Anfield Stadium, Sunday 9 April 2023.
Arsenal was already ahead when the game just entered the 8th minute through the Brazilian attacking midfielder, Gabriel Martinelli. The Brazilian national team player continued Bukayo Saka's mature pass, to break into Alisson Becker's goal which put Arsenal ahead quickly.
Twenty minutes later, Martinelli's colleague who also played for the Brazilian national team, Gabriel Jesus, doubled Arsenal's advantage. Jesus completed Martinelli's gastric cross with a precise header in the 28th minute, which resulted in Alisson's goal being conceded for the second time. 2-0 to Arsenal.
The duel was getting more exciting, and Liverpool managed to reap the benefits before the first half was over. The Egyptian striker's kick, Mohamed Salah, continued Jordan Henderson's pass, and managed to penetrate Aaron Ramsdale's goal. Liverpool reduced the deficit to 1-2 in the 42' minute. The 1-2 position lasted until the final whistle of the first half was blown by referee Paul Tierney.
Salah should have had a big chance of equalizing in the second half, when Liverpool was awarded a penalty. Rob Holding's violation against Diogo Jota resulted in a penalty. Unfortunately, Salah failed to execute the 12 right kick which was an advantage for his team.

In the 60th minute, Liverpool put in two new players to maximize the attack. Thiago Alcantara came on to replace Curtis Jones, while Darwin Nunez was brought in to replace Jota. Coach Jurgen Klopp even installed three attackers at once, by introducing Roberto Firmino in the 78th minute to replace midfielder Fabinho.
Kloop's effort was successful after Firmino broke into Ramsdale's goal in the 87th minute, to equalize at 2-2. Until referee Tierney blew the final whistle of the second half, the score remained 2-2. Thanks to the draw, the Gunners collected 73 points and stayed at the top of the standings. Meanwhile, Liverpool has not moved from 8th place with a total value of 44.
