Netray Monitoring: RDPU Commission III Of The DPR And Mahfud MD Gaduh And Become Social Media Trending, Real Results Are Not Necessarily Existing

The General Hearing Meeting (RDPU) of Commission III of the DPR RI together with the Chairman of the National Coordination Committee for the Prevention and Eradication of the Crime of Money Laundering (TPPU) Mahfud MD on March 29 had become a trending topic of news for the mass media and Twitter activists.

The meeting lasted 8 hours. The heated debate was inevitable and a series of facts were revealed. Using the keywords Mahfud and commission III, Netray conducted Twitter monitoring and mass media coverage on the topic. Monitoring was carried out during the period 25 to 31 March 2023.

As a result, 3,477 Twitter activists were found when the conversation began to increase on March 29. Uploads increased dramatically until they reached 18,553 tweets the next day.

Then on March 31, the intensity of the conversation began to decline but was still quite high, namely 13,238 tweets. During the week monitoring, there were 36,899 total tweets discussing the topic," Netray wrote in its monitoring on April 6, 2023.

The response of Twitter activists was recorded high with an impact of 39.3 million in the form of reply, retweets, and favorites. As well as the potential to reach the line of 153.2 million Indonesian-language accounts.

However, of the total tweets during monitoring, 18,863 tweets were tweets with negative sentiment. Only 5,320 tweets were positive.

The conversation of Twitter activists seems to be centered a lot on uploading mass media accounts. Kompas through the @kompascom account managed to collect 40,533 impressions from Twitter activists and took first place in the account that reaped the most impressions. Meanwhile, the @dekascom account earned 13,914 which placed him in third position.

The upload from @kompascom that received the most responses was a tweet on March 30, 2023 which contained a snippet of PDIP politician Johan Budi who reminded Mahfud MD that President Joko Widodo did not like noisy ministers.

This tweet received 1,519 comments, liked 4,635 times, and retweeted 1,111 times.

Another tweet from @kompascom that also received a lot of responses was regarding the discussion of the Asset Confiscation Law. This topic emerged when Mahfud asked Commission III of the DPR to resolve the law.

PDIP politician Bambang Wuryanto (Bambang Pacul) actually answered jokingly.

"The car should not be here, sir. Here are Korea-Korea (members of parliament), all of them obey their respective bosses. Here you can talk fiercely, sir, but Bambang Pacul was called by Mother, 'It hurts!', 'Ready! I do it!'," said Bambang.

"Well, I'm open about this. Maybe confiscation of assets can be done, but you have to talk to the party chairman first. If you can't do it here, just theory," he continued.

Bambang emphasized, I immediately answered, "Permintanpanjenengan (Mahfud) is ready (to continue the bill), if ordered by the skipper."

The tweet of a snippet of news from the Tetikcom mass media account that discussed the incident also reaped the most impressions. In addition to getting 595 comments, Netray found 2,442 potassium and 902 re-shared.

In addition to discussing the tough discussion of the Confiscation Bill in the DPR as stated by Mahfud, the @sekcom account also highlighted the statement of member of Commission III Arteria Dahlan. Arteria did not accept it because he felt he was clashed with the head of BIN Budi Gunawan by Mahfud MD.

"A piece of a lot of tweets from Detikcom placed him as the account with the third most impressions," said Netray.

For non-mass media Twitter accounts, accounts belonging to Democratic Party politicians @BennyHarmanID reap the highest impression from the Top Account list. Taking fifth place, the account garnered 12,789 responses from Twitter activists.

Benny's most popular tweet has negative sentiment for calling the suspicious transaction scandal Rp349 trillion within the Ministry of Finance. Commission III challenged Mahfud MD to dismantle the ministry's case under Sri Mulyani's leadership.

There is also an @ekowboy2 account quoting Mahfud's statement that the Minister of Finance did not take any action on the alleged money laundering in Customs and Excise. He also highlighted Johan Budi's opinion which was considered to have threatened Mahfud MD with the issue of a reshuffle.

"I ask my friends in Commission III not to threaten. Mr. Mahfud also should not threaten either," said Johan Budi at Commission III of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

The council's term of office is only 5 years in one term. Meanwhile, Mahfud MD's position is not necessarily up to 5 years.

"If it's reshuffled? Moreover, there are crowds like this," he added.
