JAKARTA - OPPO has confirmed that it will soon launch ColorOS 12 at the end of September. Before that, the company shared the official wallpapers of its mobile operating system based on Android 12.

ColorOS 12 is said to be the best iteration of the OPPO software to date. Unfortunately, the company hasn't officially revealed its features yet. However, some details about the latest operating system were successfully revealed from the leaks circulating.

Citing Gizmochina, Wednesday, September 8, the nine wallpapers posted on the official ColorOS Weibo account hint at some of the design language suggested by the Digital Chat Station. As per tipster, the new version of ColorOS is inspired by MIUI, Flyme, and HydrogenOS. At first glance, this wallpaper is indeed similar to the one found on the Android skin.

One of the main highlights of ColorOS 12 is Cross Screen Interconnection. This feature is none other than the OPPO version of Huawei Multi Screen Collaboration. An early version of that functionality is already available on certain realme devices called PC Connect.

The Weibo post also confirms that OPPO will release ColorOS 12 in mid to late September. This is in line with previous leaks. OPPO was one of the first Android OEMs to release the Android 11 beta last year, and many expect the company to stick to that tradition this year as well.

OPPO has previously announced that the updated skin will expand the personalization options available in Android 12. The company has also confirmed that ColorOS 12 will give users more privacy control and offer better transparency when it comes to data security.
