JAKARTA - The Indian government says it is rescuing its citizens who are entangled in employment fraud in Cambodia and forced to engage in cyber fraud schemes.
In a statement delivered on Saturday, March 30, a spokesman for India's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Randhir Jaiswal, stated that the Indian embassy in Cambodia is working with Cambodian authorities and has rescued and repatriated some 250 Indians, including 75 in the past three months.
Jaiswal answered Indian news reports that more than 5,000 Indians were trapped in Cambodia and forced to commit cyber fraud against citizens in India.
