JAKARTA Indonesian men's singles need 30 years to be able to become champions again in the world's oldest tournament, namely All England.

This is after Jonathan Christie defeated India's representatives, Lakshya Sen, 21-12, 10-21, and 21-15 and reached the 2024 edition final at Utilita Arena Birmingham, England, Saturday, March 16 evening WIB.

Jonatan's escape means that Indonesia automatically has two representatives in the final round, aka the All Indonesian Final will be presented in the final match which will take place on Sunday, March 17.

Previously, the first final ticket for Indonesia was secured by Anthony Sinisuka Ginting. He defeated the French representative, Christo Popov, rubber game.

The clash between Ginting and Jonathan made Indonesia definitely get one title from the men's singles, which has not been achieved for three decades.

Indonesia last won a men's singles title in this important event in 1994. At that time, Hariyanto Arbi defended the title from the previous year.

Hariyanto came out as the champion after defeating compatriot Ardy Bernardus Wiranata. So, Ginting and Jonatan's clash tomorrow is the first All Indonesian Final since that year.

The title obtained by Jonathan or Ginting tomorrow will be the 16th title of Indonesian men's singles throughout the history of the event.

Men's singles is the second sector with the most titles in All England. The number to be king so far is still the men's doubles, which has collected 23 titles.
