The Indonesian national team lost 0-4 against Libya in a test match (doc. PSSI).

JAKARTA - The Indonesian national team had to lose 0-4 during the test match against Libya. In that match, Shin Tae-yong appeared to be playing in different formations. The coach's decision was in the spotlight of Exco PSSI member, Arya Sinulingga.

In the inaugural trial match ahead of the 2023 Asian Cup, Shin Tae-yong played three strikers at once. The coach also placed Rafael Struick as the main striker.

Meanwhile, Dimas Drajad was played slightly to the left and Dendy Sulistyawan was placed behind Rafael Struick. This formation became the focus of Arya Sinulingga.

"We also see that all the formations made are still testing. Both formations at the first half were different from the second half," Arya said in his statement quoted Wednesday, January 3, 2023.

"We also see that the players are being tried in various positions. Indeed, there are players who play not in actual positions, such as Witan (Sulaeman) and Dendi (Sulistyawan). Then, the second half has a different formation," Arya added.

Arya Sinulingga also did not escape discussing the blunders of a number of players. Justin Hubner was seen making mistakes that led to Libya's second and third goals, while Jordi Amat made a blunder for Libya's final goal.

It was also seen that many mistakes were made by the players. In fact, the goals that Libya did were due to the player's fault," said Arya.

Although there are still many things that still need improvement, Arya hopes that the 0-4 defeat to Libya can be a learning and evaluation moment for Shin Tae-yong before stepping into the 2023 Asian Cup.
