Langit Highest Praise Jack Antonoff For Taylor Swift's Songwriting Ability

JAKARTA - The winner of ten Grammy Awards, Jack Antonoff, expressed his support for Taylor Swift who has come under criticism for her ability to write songs.

The 39-year-old musician and songwriter disagrees with Blur vocalist Damon Albarn who advised Taylor Swift not to write her own songs.

"Asking the writing of Swift's song is like challenging someone's faith in God," said Jack Antonoff during an interview with the Times, launching People, Monday, March 4, 2024.

Meanwhile, the feud began with Damon Albarn's statement during an interview with the Times in 2022. He advised Swift not to write her own song.

Antonoff, who was a long friend with Swift at that time, satirized the vocalist of Blur through his tweet on Twitter.

At that time, Swift also criticized Albarn through a tweet on Twitter, "@DamonAlbarn I was a big fan of you until I saw this. I wrote all my own songs."

"Your view is completely wrong and very damaging. You don't have to like my songs but it really failed to try to discredit my writing," continued the Cruel Summer singer.

Then Albarn apologized. He stated that his comments had been reduced to be used as clickbait.

"I apologize frankly and unconditionally. The last thing I want to do is discredit your songwriting. I hope you understand," said Damon Albarn.

For information, Jack Antonoff and Taylor Swift first met in 2012. Since then, the two have often worked together.

From several projects, Antonoff and Taylor Swift worked together on the album Midnights (2022) which won the Grammy Awards.
