History Founded At Leipzig Factory, One Unit Of Panamera Turbo E-hybrid Marks Porsche's 2 Millionth Production

Porsche made history at the Leipzig factory, Germany, by successfully producing as many as 2 million Porsche vehicles. This 2 million historical milestone was engraved by a Madeira Gold Metallic unit of Panamera Turbo E-hybrid which left the assembly line.

Since his debut at the Leipzig factory in 2009, Panamera has played an important role in the success of this factory. The emergence of the second generation in 2016 marked the company's commitment to expanding facilities by adding paint workshops and body production lines.

Gerd Rupp, Chairman of Porsche Leipzig GmbH, called the Leipzig factory expansion a 'full factory' as a major breakthrough, allowing large numbers of vehicle production.

"As a 'full factory,' we produce models as a whole, from body construction to final assembly. This is the basis for new car projects and sustainable growth," Rupp said in an official statement from the company, Tuesday, December 5.

The factory also made a significant contribution to the economy of the central German region by creating more than 4,400 local jobs.

Over the years, the plant has transformed into a center of electric vehicles. Going forward, Porsche plans to produce three types of powertrains - internal combustion engines (ICE), electricity (EV), and hybrid - in one assembly line.

Returning to the Porsche Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid, the car will be delivered to customers in the Dubai area, United Arab Emirates. This sedan is certainly priced far from affordable. The price reaches 192,500 euros or around IDR 3.2 billion, offering high performance and maximum luxury.

Panamera Turbo E-Hybrid is equipped with a 4.0 liter V8 turbo engine with an electric motor, generating power of 680 PS and a 930 Nm torque. With a dual-clutch eight PDK transmission, this car can reach 0-100 km/hour in 3.2 seconds with a maximum speed of 315 km/hour.

In addition, this car is included in the electrification category with plug-in hybrid (PHEV) technology and a 25.9 kWh battery that provides a range of up to 91 km in full electric mode. The AC 11 kW charging system allows battery charging within 2 hours 39 minutes.
