Pertamina's Fuel Consumption Increases To 42 Percent In North Sumatra

JAKARTA PT Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional North Sumatra (Sumbagut) noted that fuel consumption during the Eid Al-Fitr 1445 H homecoming period increased by 42 percent, especially gasoline products (Pertalite, Pertamax and Pertamax Turbo) in North Sumatra (North Sumatra).

"The average consumption of gasoline fuel (Pertalite, Pertamax and Pertamax Turbo) on D-1 and D-2 Eid Al-Fitr 2024 has increased by 42 percent compared to normal consumption in January 2024 from 4,975 Kilo Liter (KL) per day to 7,071 KL per day in North Sumatra," said Area Manager Comm, Rel & CSR Pertamina Patra Niaga Regional Sumbagut, Susanto August Satria quoted Tuesday, April 16.

He explained, but when compared to the average consumption of gasoline products on D-1 and D-2 Eid Al-Fitr 2024, it increased by 0.9 percent from D-1 and D-2 Idul Fitri 2023, which was 7,002 KL per day to 7,071 KL per day.

Meanwhile, consumption of gasoil products (Biosolar, Dex Series) also increased by approximately 9 percent to 2,685 KL per day compared to last year's 2,458 KL per day.

According to him, when compared to the average fuel consumption in January 2024, Pertalite consumption increased by 38 percent from usual or 4,558 KL per day to 6,284 KL per day.

Meanwhile, gasoil consumption decreased by 20 percent from usual or 3,350 KL per day to 2,685 KL per day. The decrease in gasoil consumption was partly due to restrictions on industrial transportation or industrial activities in North Sumatra.

"During this task force (RAFI 2024 Task Force), gasoline fuel consumption reached its highest point on D-1 Eid Al-Fitr 1445 H or Tuesday 9 April compared to normal daily consumption. We continue to monitor fuel consumption and we ensure that fuel stock and distribution in North Sumatra are safe during the return flow of Eid," said Satria.

Previously, Pertamina Patra Niaga had formed a Ramadan and Eid Task Force (RAFI) 2024. The RAFI Task Force is tasked with ensuring that the stock and energy distribution in North Sumatra is safe during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr 1445 H. The Pertamina RAFI Task Force in 2024 has started running from March 25 to April 21, 2024.

In supporting community mobility during the RAFI 2024 Task Force, Pertamina Patra Niaga provided various special services including 18 fuel motorists, 31 stand-by tank cars (SPBU Pockets), 6 Modulars placed on toll roads which are homecoming and tourist routes, 381 Alert gas stations, 813 Alert LPG Agents, 81 Alert SPPBEs and 7 health posts in the Sumbagut area.

Pertamina Patra Niaga's Corporate Secretary, Irto Petrus Ginting, said that Pertamina Patra Niaga during this task force continues to prepare to serve the community in accessing energy. In addition to internal readiness, Pertamina Patra Niaga also appreciates stakeholders who participated in helping Pertamina Patra Niaga in channeling energy during the 2024 RAFI Task Force.
