JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) utilizes the modular technology innovation volumetric Mobile Box (Mobox) from PT Adhi Karya (Persero) in building a number of infrastructures for housing in the capital city of Nusantara (IKN).

The use of modular Mobox technology is very suitable for many types of buildings and uses a knock down system that can provide efficiency in the construction process in the field.

"We continue to strive to use various technological innovations to accelerate residential development at IKN. One of them is the use of Mobility Box (Mobox) volumetric modular technology which is one of the innovations of PT Adhi Karya for the construction of Construction Worker Residential Development (HPK)," said Director General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR Iwan Suprijanto in his official statement, quoted Monday, March 25.

Iwan said Mobox technology is expected to help the government in efforts to build a number of infrastructures, such as various types of buildings for housing, such as temporary facilities, workers' camp housing that has a dynamic, adaptive, efficient, environmentally friendly design and less use of labor in the construction of installations in the field.

In addition, Mobox has also been tested as an earthquake-resistant building and has good quality and is easy in shipping throughout Indonesia and easy to unload.

Thus, it will be easy to move and can be built without using heavy equipment.

He added that in the construction of the HPK at IKN with an area of 25,116 square meters, his party also used 1,000 boxes of Mobox technology in just three months and built a mosque that could be used by construction workers.

It is known that the modular technology volumetric Mobile Box (Mobox) was developed by PT Adhi Persada Gedung which is part of PT Adhi Karya.

Mobile Box (Mobox) has three types, namely Mobox 6x6, Mobox 3x6 and Mobox 3x3, which are design and construction systems with a precise and fabricated modular unit outside the project site. This system can adjust the user's needs to the basis of the number and position of the module.

The construction of volumetric modulars in general is a process in which the entire room or room is complete with walls, floors and ceilings built in factory settings and then transported to the final location for assembly.

This type of construction is used for a permanent modular project and can be relocated. The module is carried out outside the location and is factoryd under controlled factory conditions and has uniform quality according to applicable standards.

Moboxes can also be sent to areas with minimum transportation conditions, such as using fuso or containers to all regions in Indonesia.

The Mobox installation process can be combined according to needs and is efficient in time and costs as well as a small amount of workforce, adaptive to dynamic and environmentally friendly situations and guaranteed the safety of its users because it is able to go through earthquake tests at the PUPR Ministry Puslitbang in Cileunyi with earthquake fibers on a richter scale (SR) scale and not being damaged.

"Currently, we have used this Mobox in the construction of construction workers (HPK) and mosques in IKN. We hope that the use of this innovation will become part of the revolution in the construction sector in Indonesia and encourage the use of domestic product technology in infrastructure development throughout Indonesia," he added.
