JAKARTA - The Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) seeks to produce competent human resources according to the current needs of the world of work, especially in the field of the national manufacturing industry.
Meanwhile, throughout 2023, the Ministry of Industry has managed to score 38,995 competent human resources for the industrial sector.
"The real title that we have produced is to produce 38,995 competent industrial workers through industrial human resources training programs and the implementation of industrial vocational education in 2023. That number increased 18.6 percent compared to last year," said Minister of Industry (Menperin) Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita in a written statement, quoted on Tuesday, December 19.
Throughout 2023, Agus continued, the Ministry of Industry's Agency for Industrial Human Resources Development (BPSDMI) has organized up to 666 trainings for 32,714 people in various provinces in Indonesia.
Head of BPSDMI Masrokhan said, this number increased by 21 percent from the previous year.
"The various training sectors that have been held are the food and beverage sector (mamin), welding, furniture, animation, digital marketing, electronics, machinery, automotive, fiber optics, plastic, textiles, and others," he said.
Masrokhan said the training organized by BPSDMI was in the form of Training 3 in 1. Through this training, participants get three benefits at once, namely skill training, competency certificates that are useful in the world of work, to job placement.
"For industrial workers, this competency certificate is very useful for improving the competitiveness and welfare of workers," he said.
He added that his party also facilitated the implementation of the competency test certification for the industrial sector at the Professional Certification Institute (LSP), which is an implementing institution for professional certification activities that is licensed by the National Professional Certification Agency (BNSP).
