JAKARTA - The Indonesian E-Commerce Association (idEA) together with the Ministry of Trade announced that the 2023 National Online Shopping Day (Harbolnas) in Indonesia is ready to be held from 10-12 December 2023 and reap transactions worth IDR 25 trillion.

As the organizer of Harbolnas 2023, idEA is optimistic that in the largest online shopping event in 2023 this time it can reach a total transaction value of IDR 25 trillion.

"For Harbolnas 2023 this time, we are targeting the transaction value of IDR 25 trillion to be collected within three days," said IdEA Chair Bima Laga in a press conference in Tangerang Regency, quoted from Antara, Saturday, December 9.

Harbolnas' transaction target this year has increased from Harbolnas 2022 which reached a total transaction value of IDR 22.7 trillion.

The Harbolnas 2023 activity became special because the association prepared two special categories at the largest online shopping promotion event in Indonesia. The first category is the special promotion of local-made products which will take place on 10-11 December 2023, while the second category is promotion for the general category which is prepared to color the peak of Harbolnas 2023 on December 12, 2023.

Furthermore, idEA and the Ministry of Trade recorded that the total number of local business actors who registered to participate in Harbolnas 2023 reached its highest number, namely around 572 business actors.

The public can view the official IDEA website specifically for Harbolnas 2023 to see which local and brand business actors are involved in the Harbolnas 2023 program. On that site, people can see MSMEs involved in each product category and can be directed directly to the shopping page if they choose one of the sellers on the website.

Bima said that local products are expected to dominate more transactions in line with the Proudly Made in Indonesia National Movement (Gernas BBI) program.

"Of the Rp25 trillion, local products are targeted to contribute 70 percent," said Bima.

Head of the Creative Economy Development Strategy Division of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment Liz Zeny Merry said the presence of Harbolnas 2023 could encourage more interested people to switch to become customers of local products.

"Indeed, supporting developing local products requires a process and one of the processes is to provide support to optimize transactions that exist in these three days (in Harbolnas) so that 70 percent of these can be achieved from local products," said Liz.
