Towards the 78th National Electricity Day (HLN) which falls on October 27, 2023, PT PLN (Persero) recorded that up to the third quarter of 2023 the national Electrification Ratio reached 99.74 percent.

Darmawan emphasized that together with the PLN government, it will be more trending to achieve the National Electrification Ratio target of 100% by 2025. PLN's massive fulfillment efforts since 2019, where the number of household customers was only 69.62 million, grew to 80.56 million in the third quarter of 2023, an increase of 15.72 percent.

Darmawan ensured that currently all large islands and local government centers have had reliable electricity. In fact, it is able to become the main foundation of regional economic growth.

However, to be able to achieve the 100 percent target by 2025, PLN has homework by providing access to electricity to remote areas and remote village villages.

PLN's heroic efforts to provide electricity to villages are reflected in the growth of the National Electricity Village Ratio (RDB) which has continued to grow since 2015. It was recorded that the 2015 National RDB was 96.95 percent and continued to grow until the third quarter of 2023 at 99.83 percent.

"Electricity is the heart of Indonesia's economic growth. The presence of electricity is expected to be able to encourage the economy of the community, industry and business sector," Darmawan said in his official statement, Friday, October 27.

Darmawan continued, currently out of 83,763 villages and sub-districts in Indonesia, 76,679 villages have been successfully electrified by PLN, 4,057 villages have non-PLN electricity, 2,887 villages use energy-efficient solar lights (LTSHE) and there are still 140 villages that have not yet been electrified. The majority of these villages are in the leading, outermost, and disadvantaged (3T) areas in eastern Indonesia.

"Currently, the biggest challenge for PLN is to increase the electrification ratio in Eastern Indonesia and 3T regions. For this reason, we continue to strive and synergize with the government and various stakeholders to increase the electrification ratio so that all Indonesians can feel the light," said Darmawan.

As a tangible manifestation of lighting up the country, last September PLN together with the Regional Government of Lamandau Regency, Central Kalimantan inaugurated the entry of electricity in Bayat Village, Tangga Batu Village, and Seplipi Preparation Village which was attended by the Regent of Lamandau Hendra Lesmana.

"We appreciate and thank PLN for its commitment to the roadmap for the development of Lamandau Regency so that evenly distributed electricity development is realized by the community," said Hendra.

Hendra said, during his 5 years of government, the acceleration of electricity development in Lamandau was extraordinary. Previously, the electricity village in Lamandau was around 30 to 40 percent, but now it has reached 80 percent of villages in Lamandau have been electrified by PLN.

"PLN's efforts to electrify all corners, especially in Central Kalimantan, are extraordinary, Lamandau only has a few villages that have not been electrified by PLN," he said.
