YOGYAKARTA - The Yogyakarta City Government ensures that it does not increase parking rates during the Lebaran 2024 holiday to provide the best service to travelers and tourists visiting this area.

Secretary of the Yogyakarta City Transportation Service (Dishub) Golkari Made Yulianto said normal rates remain valid both in parking spaces (TKP) and parking on public roadside (TJU).

"There is no policy of increasing parking retribution rates in this Eid moment," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 2.

Golkari said that parking rates will still be applied referring to Regional Regulation Number 2 of 2020 concerning Public Road Bank Parking Retribution and Parking Special Places.

In the premium area or area I managed by the Yogyakarta City Government, parking rates are progressive, namely the Rp5,000 car for the first two hours and every next hour it will increase by Rp. 2,500, while the Rp. 2,000 motorcycle for the first two hours and the next hour it will increase by Rp. 1,500.

Area I includes Jalan Margo Utomo, Jalan Urip Sumoharjo, Jalan Prof. Yohanes, Jalan Secodiningratan, Jalan Pajeksan, Jalan Beskalan, Jalan Rekobayan, Jalan Representative, Jalan Suryatmajan, Jalan Ketaan, and Jalan Kebun Raya Gembira Loka.

The progressive parking rate also applies to parking spaces (TKP) managed by the Yogyakarta City Government.

While at public roadside parking points in area II and area III or outside area I and crime scene, he ensures that all of them continue to use flat tariff systems.

"The big bus is IDR 75 thousand for the first three hours at the crime scene. Because it is progressive, the next hour (increases) IDR 25 thousand. Progressiveness only applies to areas one and crime scenes," said Golkari.

When people encounter parking rates collection that violate the rules, they urge the public and tourists to report to the Yogyakarta City Transportation Agency and officers guarding the post and mobile officers.

The public can also report via the Yogyakarta City Saber Extortion Team Hotline by contacting 081329093669.

"Don't hesitate to report it to us immediately. We will definitely follow up immediately, especially if you park 'nuthuk' (increase tariffs), it is clearly more serious," he said.

Previously, the Head of the Yogyakarta City Transportation Agency, Agus Arif Nugroho, said that the order related to the collection of parking service levies had been socialized to 827 official parking attendants in the city of Yogyakarta.

"There is no need for a long process, when it is proven that there is a jukir (parking attendant) officially committing an unlawful act, yes, we will revoke the assignment letter," said Agus.

He also appealed to the public and tourists not to pay vehicle parking fees in this area when officers do not provide official tickets that have been provided

Meanwhile, the Daily Executive (Plh) of the Head of the DIY Tourism Office (Dinpar) Anita Verawati stated that she had given an appeal to tourism actors in DIY regarding the implementation of parking rates during the 2024 Eid holiday period.

"We are coordinating this, so all regencies/cities have started inviting several tourism actors regarding the appeal for reasonable prices, including parking. It started yesterday," he said.
