The National Police Chief Is Ready To Attend When Asked By The Constitutional Court To Attend The Presidential Election Lawsuit Session

National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo stated that he was ready to present a statement at the trial of the 2024 Presidential Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case, if requested by the Constitutional Court.

"Alhamdulillah, if the Constitutional Court Judge invites him with pleasure, we will attend," said Sigit when met after breaking the fast with the TNI-Polri at Bhayangkara Field, Jakarta, reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, April 2.

The National Police Chief said his presence was a form of citizen who was obedient and obedient to the laws and regulations.

"We obey the rules and constitution," said Sigit.

Previously, the Deputy for Law for the National Winning Team (TPN) Ganjar-Mahfud, Todung Mulya Lubis, revealed that his party proposed the National Police Chief General Pol. Listyo Sigit Prabowo to provide information at the trial of the 2024 General Election Result Dispute (PHPU) case.

"We ask the Chairman of the Assembly to present the National Police Chief at the next trial," said Todung.

TPN Ganjar-Mahfud has sent a letter to the Constitutional Court regarding the request.

The reason for submitting the name of the National Police Chief, because according to his party there were many alleged violations committed by the police.

"There are quite a lot of things related to the police, including the police who intimidate, criminalize, and those involved with neutrality in the campaign," he said.

Through the summons, the TPN Legal Team hopes to get an accountable explanation of the policies and orders issued by the police.

Then, on Monday (1/4), the Constitutional Court announced that it would summon four ministers, namely Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture Muhadjir Effendy, Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto, Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani, and Minister of Social Affairs Tri Rismaharini, as well as the Election Organizers Honorary Council (DKPP). These parties will be questioned at the hearing which will be held on Friday (5/4).

Chairman of the Panel of Judges Suhartoyo emphasized that the summons of the five parties categorized as important to hear his statement by the Constitutional Court was not a form of accommodation for applications from the Anies-Muhaimin and Ganjar-Mahfud camps.

He explained that the petition of the two camps was actually rejected by the Constitutional Court, but the constitutional judge took his own stance to summon the ministers and the DKPP considering the position they held.
