The West Java High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) has arrested a suspect in the alleged corruption case in the construction of the Sindangkasih Market in Cigasong, Majalengka Regency, West Java, Andi Nurmawan (AN) at the Class I Detention Center in Bandung (Kebonwaru), while two people previously submitted a reschedule for the examination.

Assistant for Special Crimes (Aspidsus) of the West Java Prosecutor's Office, Syarief Sulaeman Nahdi, revealed that his party was detaining the person concerned, because it was related to a criminal act of corruption in the systematic abuse of power carried out by an individual within the Majalengka Regency Government during a development activity to hand over the Sindangkasih Market Cigasong.

"On Tuesday, March 19, 2024, we detained one of the suspects in the Sindangkasih Market case. The detention was carried out for the next 20 days at the Bandung Class I Detention Center. AN is private," Syarief said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 20.

Syarief said that on Tuesday 19 March, AN underwent an examination related to the Sindangkasih Market case, along with two other suspects, namely Irfan Nur Alam (INA) and M.

"So there should have been three suspects in the Sindangkasih Market case who were questioned, but the two suspects, namely INA and M, proposed to reschedule the examination," he said.

Irfan Nur Alam, who is the Head of the Personnel and Human Resources Development Agency (BKPSDM) of Majalengka Regency who was named a suspect last week, was not seen coming to the West Java Prosecutor's Office to undergo an examination.

Head of West Java Attorney General's Office, Nur Sricahyawijaya, when confirmed, said that his party would coordinate with investigators to determine the next steps because the summons to Irfan Nur Alam for examination was received directly by the person concerned.

"The summons and determination of the suspect has been sent and received by the person concerned. Then we are waiting for the investigator's attitude first," he said.

Previously, the West Java Prosecutor's Office named INA as a suspect in the corruption case of the Sindangkasih Market, Cigasong Majalengka, related to its role in systematically abusing power/authority in building activities to hand over (build, operate and transfer/BOT) Pasar Sindangkasih Cigasong, Majalengka Regency.

"INA, who now serves as Head of the Majalengka Regency BKPSDM, is a Civil Servant who serves as Head of the Majalengka Regency Economic and Regional Development Section from 2019 to 2021," said Cahya.

Cahya explained that the West Java High Prosecutor's Office Investigative team named INA as a suspect, based on an investigation warrant from the Head of the West Java High Prosecutor's Office Number: 682/M.2/Fd.2/03/2024 dated March 14 and a letter of determination of the suspect (PIDSUS-18) Head of the West Java High Prosecutor's Office Number: TAP- 28/M.2/Fd.2/03/2024 dated March 14, 2024.

Furthermore, Cahya revealed that in the 2020 fiscal year, the Majalengka Regency Government based on the Majalengka Regent Regulation Number 103 of 2020, carried out the selection of partners for the use of regional property in the form of construction for handover (build, operate and transfer/BOT) on land on Jalan Raya Cigasong-Jatiwangi, Majalengka Regency, where the person acting as Chairman of Bangun Guna Serah was the Assistant for the Economy and Development, then the secretary was the Head of the Economic Division which at that time was held by the suspect INA.

The partners who were selected in the construction to hand over were PT Purna Graha Abadi (PGA), after H Endang Rukanda (President Commissioner of PT PGA) issued a sum of cash given to AN (the private party who had been named a suspect two years ago) and DRN (PNS who had been named a suspect two years ago) who helped INA in arranging the winner of the project auction.

Then PT PGA also transferred some money to an account in the name of PT KEB, bringing the total amount to billions of rupiah, for conditioning in the project auction.

"From the money that went into PT KEB's account, AN then made a withdrawal together with DRN. A number of the money was transferred by PT PGA to condition PT PGA as the winner of the auction in the construction work project to hand over," said Cahya.

It is known, INA is the son of the former Regent of Majalengka Karna Sobahi. In 2019, INA had caused a stir among the people of Majalengka for shooting a contractor partner.

This incident was triggered by a debt problem. Even though he was caught in a shooting case, INA was still an ASN. Even his position was promoted to Head of BKPSDM Majalengka.
