PK Mardani Maming's Trial, KPK Prosecutor Affirms There Is No Mistake In Judge Ketok's Decision

BANJARMASIN - The Banjarmasin Corruption Crime District Court (Tipikor), South Kalimantan completed a review trial (PK) in a corruption case in the transfer of mining business permits (IUP) convicted by former Tanah Bumbu Regent Mardani H Maming as the applicant and public prosecutor of the KPK as the respondent.

"Today's trial ended after the entire agenda was carried out starting from the petitioner's memory, listening to expert statements and the respondent's response," said Chief Justice Suwandi in Banjarmasin as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, March 14.

Furthermore, the litigants are just waiting for the judge's decision at the Supreme Court (MA) to examine and try the PK case.

Yasir Arafat, Mardani's attorney, hopes that the Supreme Court's panel of judges will be able to decide fairly by observing the facts of the trial through expert witness testimony.

As stated by Muhammad Arif Setiawan and Prof Ridwan, an academic from the Islamic University of Indonesia (UII) Yogyakarta, he said, it was concluded that there was a mistake made by the judge in deciding the corruption case committed by the former Regent of Tanah Bumbu.

The mistake was the absence of a "meeting of mind" which should be a strong reason for the judge to consider in deciding cases.

Meanwhile, the public prosecutor from the KPK, Greafik Lioserte, said that there was not a single reason that could be used as the basis for the judge's decision to make a mistake.

"Therefore, we ask the panel of judges to strengthen the court's decision and have been executed and reject the PK application submitted by the applicant," he said.

During the trial, the convict Mardani attended virtually from the Sukamiskin Class 1 Correctional Institution (Lapas), Bandung City, West Java.
