The 2024 International Tourism Screenship Contest Will Take Place In Biak In November

BIAK - International tourism ship contest or Yacth 2024 will take place in Biak waters. This event has now been scheduled by the Biak Numfor Regency Tourism Office (Dispar), Papua.

"Dispar Biak Numfor has received support from the Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves) and the Ministry of Creative Economy Tourism (Kemenparekraf)," said Head of the Biak Tourism Office Numfor Onny Dangeubun in Biak, as reported by ANTARA, Monday, March 11.

Onny admitted, to support the International Tourism Boat contest, the Biak Numfor Regency Government already has a special YACth port in the waters of Nirmala Beach Samau.

Onny said that the port where the Yacth tourist boat was located in 2023 had been inaugurated by Regent Herry Ario Naap to support tourism programs throughout the Land of Papua, especially in Biak Numfor Regency.

Onny said that currently in Biak Numfor Regency, an international labeled tourism program has been designed with the support of the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and the Ministry of Tourism and Creative Economy as well as other relevant ministries.

Onny added that the International tourism sailing ship contest event will be combined with the implementation of Sail Teluk Cenderawasih (STC) Biak in November 2024.

It is hoped that the international tourism sailing ship contest event can increase the number of tourist visits to Biak Numfor Regency.

"Moreover, Biak Numfor has the potential for maritime tourism for nature tourism, the historical remains of World War II and various cultural arts from the Biak tribe which are very interesting to show tourists," said Onny.

In the implementation of the STC November 2024, various regional tourism activities were programmed, including the Wor traditional dance culture attraction,Yospanand attractions running on hot stones (apen beyeren) and entertainment music performances.
