Serang Police have arrested De (45) and Aa (53) as suspects in the theft of gas cylinders that are troubling residents.

Serang Police Chief AKBP Candra Sasongko said a group of specialists who broke into the warehouse of the LPG gas agent had to be shot for resisting when asked to show the hiding location of one of his colleagues with the initials SA (DPO).

"The Resmob team was forced to take firm and measured action because the two perpetrators resisted and did not heed the officer's warning," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, March 4.

This group of perpetrators is very disturbing for LPG gas agents in Petir and Tunjung Teja sub-districts. It was recorded that there were five LPG base owners and gas agents who reported their place of business being targeted for theft.

"There were five LPG agents and gas bases in the Lightning and Tunjung Teja areas who were victims. Not only gas agents were targeted for theft, this herd also stole the iron train tracks in Cikeusal District," said the Police Chief.

The police chief explained that the last victim of this herd was Amelia's LPG gas base (39) in Tegal Sapan Village, Lightning Village, on Thursday (22/2) yesterday. From the location of this base, the perpetrators stole 119 3 kg gas cylinders.

"The modus operandi is that 3 perpetrators broke the store lock and transported the tube using an open tub vehicle," he said.

The Resmob team led by Bripka Sutrisno then moved to investigate and succeeded in identifying the perpetrators.

"On Monday (26/2), the Resmob Team managed to apprehend DE and AA in the stall of used goods belonging to one of the perpetrators in Pajarakan Village, Tambiluk Village, Lightning District. From the location of the stall, 100 3 kg gas cylinders were secured as a result of the crime," he explained.

During the investigation, said the Police Chief, two perpetrators, residents of Tambiluk Village and Cirangkong Village, Lightning District, admitted that in every action they also involved SA (DPO). Armed with this confession, the Resmob Team took the two perpetrators to show SA's hiding place.

"When asked to show the hiding location, the two tried to escape. Because they did not heed the warning, the two suspects had to take firm and measured action," he said.

In addition to 100 gas cylinders measuring 3 kg, 1 unit of insbak vehicle, chicken scissors, crowbars, L keys used as a means of crime was also secured.
