JAKARTA - Former Deputy Chairperson of the KPK Laode Muhammad Syarif said there was an neutrality between state officials and ASN (State Civil Service) and the practice of money politics in the implementation of the 2024 general election. "There are money politics practices, there are neutrality of state officials and ASN from above to below," said Laode Muhammad Syarif during a consolidation of election monitoring held by Bawaslu at the Aryaduta Hotel Menteng, Central Jakarta, Tuesday, February 13. In order to avoid unprofessionalism, continued Syarif, the Nation's Conscience Movement hopes that the practice of money politics will be eliminated immediately. Syarif emphasized to the central and regional governments to prove their independence and integrity ahead of voting and vote count, including maintaining the neutrality of their apparatus. "We must eliminate the practices that are a conflict of interest, why should we eliminate the conflict of interest? Because it is the root of corruption," he explained.

So, said Syarif, the professionalism of election organizers, in this case the KPU and Bawaslu, including state administrators ranging from the president to the village head, are the keys to the dignified implementation of the 2024 election.
