JAKARTA - The General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) will take firm action against the post of PSI General Chair Kaesang Pangarep on his Instagram account during a quiet period.

"Currently in the study of Bawaslu, but for quick steps we have requested that it (Kaesang campaign post) be taken down," said Bawaslu member Lolly Suhenty in Bawaslu, Monday, February 12.

Lolly explained, for the take down process, Bawaslu will ask Kominfo.

"We ask Kominfo to take down. We conduct studies in our cyber patrols. We cooperate with Kominfo in collaboration with social media platforms," explained Lolly.

He also reminded about the campaign calm period based on Article 287 paragraph 5 of Law No. 7 of 2017 on the prohibition for Mass Media.

"We have provisions 287 paragraph 5, where this calm period is no longer allowed, news, advertisements, track records, or other forms that are profitable or detrimental to certain pairs of candidates, so that in this context we immediately explore the viral information," explained Lolly.

It is known that PSI Chairman Kaesang Pangarep actively posted campaign content during the calm of the election which took place from February 11, 2024 to February 13, 2024.

According to VOI's monitoring, Kaesang Pangarep's Instagram account today posted PSI campaign activities in various regions from Solo to South Tangerang.
