KPU Member Idham Holik/DOK ANTARA

JAKARTA - KPU member Idham Holik stated that the percentage video of recapitulation of voting abroad circulating on social media is fake news or hoaxes.

"The information on social media X is not true and is categorized as hoax or disinformation," said Idham as quoted by ANTARA, Friday, February 9.

He explained that based on the figures 1 letter b number 5 letters a and b in Attachment I of KPU Regulation Number 25 of 2023, vote counting abroad fell on February 14, 2024 for voting methods at polling stations (TPS) and mobile ballot boxes (KSK).

"If the vote count has not been completed, it will be extended no later than 12 hours without a break from the end of the day of the domestic vote or February 15," he said.

Meanwhile, he said, the vote count of the post method was carried out from 15 to 22 February 2024.

"It was carried out before the Overseas Election Committee (PPLN) recapitulated the vote count results," concluded Idham.

Previously, a video circulated on social media showing the results of the recapitulation of votes abroad. The video features the flags of Malaysia, South Korea, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, and Saudi Arabia with each percentage of votes acquired.
