7 KKB Members Shot While Attacking TNI/Polri Posts In Intan Jaya

Seven KKB members were shot in the attack on the TNI-Polri post in Sugapa, Intan Jaya, Central Papua. One Brimob member died.

"This incident became a heavy burden that Undius Kagoya had to bear as Pangkodap VIII Intanjaya Region due to the strategy implemented to sacrifice 7 KSTP members in vain. From informants in conveying the latest developments to 5 people dead and 2 injured, currently being treated at the KSTP headquarters," said Head of Kogabwilhan III Colonel Gusti Nyoman Suriastawa, Friday, January 26.

The shootout between the TNI-Polri and KKB took place in a few days. The KKB initially attacked the Cartenz Peace Task Force in Mamba Village, Sugapa.

Shootouts occurred from Saturday, January 20 to Tuesday, January 23. Shootouts occurred at several posts.

"Undius Kagoya ordered to divert the target to civilian aircraft that route flights to Sugapa, if forced to kill the community and burn the honai to eliminate traces," said Gusti Nyoman.
