PBNU Deactivates Erick Thohir From NU Lakpesdam Chair

JAKARTA - The Nahdlatul Ulama (PBNU) Executive Board today officially disabled Erick Thohir from the position of Chairman of the PBNU Institute for Research and Human Resources Development (Lakpesdam).

Erick together with 64 other functionalists were deactivated by PBNU for being a successful team of presidential and vice-presidential candidates and legislative candidates.

Erick was deactivated through a letter numbered 285.a/PB.01/AII.01.08/99/01/2024. The letter is an update of the deactivation letter previously issued by PBNU on January 21, 2024.

"SK No. 285.a is an improvement from the previous SK 285," explained Deputy Chairperson of PBNU, H Amin Said Husni in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, January 24.

Amin Said explained, SK 285.a corrected the names of Inayah Abdurrahman Wahid, KH Fuad Nurhasan, and Imron Rosyadi. The three names were removed from the list because there was clarification from the person concerned that they were not part of the success team of the presidential and vice presidential candidates.

"And added the names of Erick Thohir (relawan capres), Andi Salahuddin, and Gus Hilmy Muhammad (calon DPD)," said Amin Said.

Previously, PBNU had disabled at least 64 functionary names from the ranks of the Daily Executive and PBNU based on Decree Number 285/PB.01/AI.01.08/99/01/2024.

Amin Said added that the deactivation of the PBNU functionaries is calculated from the date of determination by the competent institution until the completion of the 2024 election process.

"The majority of names have applied for leave permits or were inactive since the KPU was appointed. This Decree is an affirmation from PBNU on their applications for non-activeness," he added.

All of these functions are names that are officially listed as legislative candidates and successful teams for presidential and vice presidential candidates.

In the Mustasyar ranks, among others, there are the names of former South Sumatra Governor Herman Deru (Timnas Amin), a member of the Presidential Advisory Council Habib Luthfi bin Yahya (TKN Prabowo-Gibran), and former PKB politician Muhammad AS Hikam (TPN Ganjar-Mahfud).

Meanwhile, in the ranks of the Syuriyah and Tanfidziyah Daily Executives, there were five legislative candidates and 11 people who entered the presidential candidate team. These include KH Ma'shum Faqih (Timnas Amin), Khofifah Indar Parawansa (TKN Prabowo-Gibran), and KH Mustofa Aqil Siradj (TPN Ganjar-Mahfud).

The name Khofifah as the General Chair of the NU Muslimat is also included in the ranks of 48 PBNU members who have been disabled. Apart from Khofifah, there is the General Chairperson of Jam'iyatul Qurra' wal Huffadz Saifullah Ma'shum (Timnas Amin), General Chairperson of the Nahdlatul Ulama (Pergunu) Teachers Association KH Asep Saifuddin Chalim.

Chairman of the NU Bachelors Association (ISNU) Ali Masykur Musa and Chairman of the NU Agricultural Development Institute (LPPNU) Nusron Wahid (TKN Prabowo-Gibran) as well as Chairman of the NU Mosque Takmir Institute (LTMNU) Nasyirul Falah Amru and Chairman of the Strategic Innovation Development Agency Yenny Wahid (TPN Ganjar-Mahfud).
