Chairman Of The DPRD Proposed To Be Fired, Acting Regent Of Jayapura Installs A Body

JAYAPURA- Acting (Pj) Jayapura Regent Triwarno Purnomo said that the proposal letter for the dismissal of the local DPRD chairman, Klamens Hamo, contained an error so that it could not be processed to the next stage.

"I am a former Secretary of the Council for five years, and I see the letter being ashamed of itself," said Acting Regent of Jayapura Triwarno Purnomo as quoted by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 17.

According to him, the chairman of the Jayapura Regency DPRD, Klemens Hamo, was involved in a legal case in 2023, and there should have been a replacement through a letter submitted through the Jayapura Regency Government (Pemkab) to the Papua Provincial Government.

"How do we want the replacement process, only the letter given by the Secretary to us to be submitted to the Provincial Government is all wrong," he said.

He explained that the difference in letters could be seen from the first and second letters being different, the titles and litumes were different.

"I repeat, the letter from Sekwan is wrong and how the process of stopping can run until there is a change," he said.

He added that if the letter submitted by the Secretary of Jayapura Regency was correct, the letter would definitely be followed up.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Council (Sekwan) of the Jayapura Regency DPRD, Derek Timothy Wouw, said that the letter of dismissal had been followed up with the Papua Provincial Government.

"We ourselves were immediately given to the Papua Provincial Government to immediately follow up on the proposal, considering that the previous two letters on November 20 and December 4, 2023 were not followed up by the acting regent," he said.

According to him, currently his party is only waiting for the answer to the letter regarding the dismissal from the Papua Provincial Government.

"The important thing is that we have submitted it, where has it arrived, we don't know, and we are just waiting," he said.

The chairman of the Jayapura Regency DPRD, Klamens Hamo, is suspected of committing a fraud case of hundreds of millions of rupiah with the victim with the initials DIA (52) and the case was reported on Saturday (4/11) 2023 at the Jayapura Police.
