JAKARTA - Secretary of the Prabowo-Gibran National Campaign Team (TKN), Nusron Wahid, said that the Governor of East Java Khofifah Indar Parawansa was officially appointed as the Steering Committee as well as the national campaigner (jurkamnas) of TKN Prabowo-Gibran. Nusron explained that his party had issued a decree (SK) for the joining of Khofifah with TKN. However, the decree will be effective on Sunday, January 21, 2024. The “SK has been created. However, the decree may be effective starting January 21,” said Nusron during a press conference at the Media Center TKN Prabowo-Gibran, South Jakarta, Antara, Thursday, January 11. Nusron said Khofifah would emerge as part of the TKN during the fourth debate of the Indonesian KPU, which will be held right when the decree is effective. After that, Khofifah will actively participate in the open campaign as a national prosecutor for the candidate pair number two. "So during the first debate, maybe he had the courage to appear during the fourth debate, when he entered the campaign on 21 (January), yes, an open campaign; that's where we began to include him as a TKN list, as well as being a national campaigner,” he added. Furthermore, Nusron explained that Khofifah was included as one of the Steering Committee for TKN Prabowo-Gibran after going through the meeting and discussion process. Previously, Khofifah announced that she was ready to join TKN Prabowo-Gibran after carrying out Umrah. He said joining him with TKN was a form of fulfillment of promises. The General Chairperson of the PP Muslimat NU also said that he had asked Nusron to include his name on the Prabowo-Gibran TKN list. In fact, Khofifah said he was ready if he had to be lined up as a national campaigner (jurkamnas) for the Prabowo-Gibran pair. "Please include me as a national jurkam," said Khofifah. The Indonesian KPU has determined the participants in the 2024 presidential election, namely pair number 1 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar, serial number 2 Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka, and serial number 3 Ganjar Pranowo-Mahfud MD.

The KPU has also set a campaign period from November 28, 2023 to February 10, 2024, then the voting schedule will be on February 14, 2024.
