SEMARANG - Police arrested the perpetrator of the motorcycle theft in Semarang City, Central Java, with the mode of conducting a test drive which then fled the victim's vehicle.

Semarang Deputy Chief of Police AKBP Wiwit Ari Wibowo explained that the suspect TL (47), a resident of Tuntang, Semarang Regency, took action last on January 6 at the victim's house in the Sampangan area, Semarang City.

The perpetrator targeted the victim's Kawasaki ER6F type motorcycle based on his search on social media.

The perpetrator who knew the victim's vehicle was about to be sold then contacted to see firsthand his condition.

From the results of the investigation based on CCTV footage around the scene, the police arrested the perpetrator along with evidence of stolen motorbikes at his home.

According to the perpetrator's statement, the Kawasaki KLX motorcycle was stolen in the same fashionable manner when it took action in November 2023.

Together with the suspect TL, the police also arrested three other perpetrators who acted as collectors and buyers of stolen goods.

For their actions, the perpetrators were charged with Article 363 of the Criminal Code regarding theft or Article 372 of the Criminal Code concerning embezzlement.
