Residents Have Removed Anies-Muhaimin Billboards In Kampung Susun Aquarium

JAKARTA - Residents of Kampung Susun Aquarium have removed billboards and banners from the presidential candidate pair and vice presidential candidate number 01 Anies Baswedan-Muhaimin Iskandar who were displayed on the wall of the building on Monday (8/1) night.

"Yesterday (Monday) the night on the wall was removed, but with our sincerity. Now we are also asked to remove the one on the fence," said Head of the Bangkit Mandiri Aquarium Cooperative Darma Dini in Penjaringan, North Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, January 9.

Dini said previously residents of the Kampung Susun Aquarium did not expect that their village, which has been rebuilt by the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government, would receive a different response, if they put up billboards and banners with political nuances such as other villages in the capital.

"For us, this democratic process can be the same as for residents in other villages. They can freely install billboards or banners that are their support," said Diani.

So far, his party has only referred to the rules of the Cooperation Agreement (PKS) with the Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD) of DKI Jakarta Province regarding 'what is permissible and is not allowed' by residents of Kampung Susun Aquarium.

"What we understand in our PKS process, what is prohibited is: 1. You can't sell buildings; 2. Don't accept automated teller machines; 3. Don't install commercial advertising billboards; 4. Don't rent out to retail business owners (such as Indomaret, Alfa, and others). So this is what we hold," said Diani.

However, everything became clear for residents after the North Jakarta City General Election Supervisory Agency (Bawaslu) and other parties such as the North Jakarta City National and Political Unity Agency (Kesbangpol), came to the Kampung Susun Aquarium.

Bawaslu then explained again about the prohibition of installing campaign props in buildings or facilities owned by the government, as stated in Article 71 of the General Election Commission Regulation (PKPU) Number 15 of 2023 concerning General Election Campaigns.

Diani emphasized that the installation of billboards and banners for the presidential-vice presidential candidate pair number 01 was not carried out by the state civil apparatus (ASN) in North Jakarta City, but it was the movement of its own citizens.

He also said that the residents of Kampung Susun Aquarium installed billboards and banners not because of certain lure from any election participants.

The installation arises from a sense of democratic equality, like other villagers in the capital.

Regarding the building, said Diani, currently residents of the Kampung Susun Aquarium are still renting to the government. The rental fee is paid in full to the DKI Jakarta Regional Asset Management Agency (BPAD).
