DKI Satpol PP Opens The Complaint Post For Missing Children To Pickpocket Victims On New Year's Eve

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a celebration of New Year's Eve 2024 along Jalan Jenderal Sudirman to Jalan MH Thamrin, and the National Monument area.

In this case, the Head of the DKI Jakarta Satpol PP Arifin said that his party had alerted dozens of public complaint posts scattered at New Year's Eve celebration points.

"We built 56 public complaint posts. We named Pamdumas, security and public complaints. This post is along Thamrin-Sudirman, both on the west side and the east side of Thamrin-Sudirman Street," Arifin told reporters, Thursday, December 28.

This Pamdumas post, said Arifin, serves various complaints. One of them is the reporting of missing children by their parents when participating in New Year's Eve celebrations.

"When there are people who may lose their children, separate from their families, please report their complaints to the postal officer with 56 points. Hopefully we can help, then later find one separate family," explained Arifin.

In addition, the Pamdumas post also serves complaints from the public who are victims of criminal acts, one of which is the pickpocketing that is rampant in the crowd.

Satpol PP, continued Arifin, also coordinates with the police to follow up on the practice of crime on New Year's Eve.

"If there may be a pickpocket, there is a criminal act, so please complain at the 56 public complaint post points spread throughout Thamrin-Sudirman," he explained.

To oversee the operation of security and order during the New Year's Eve commemoration, Arifin deployed 1,600 Satpol PP ranks which were distributed at a number of points.

"We have dispatched more than 1,600 personnel. Especially along the Thamrin-Sudirman road, we have deployed nearly 1,000 people, from Monas to the Senayan Youth statue," he added.

Welcoming the new year 2024, quite a number of events will take place in Jakarta. The DKI Jakarta Provincial Government will hold a Young Night of Homecoming Jakarta Global on New Year's Eve 2024 with a series of events ranging from Jakarnaval, the music stage, video screening to drone shows.

The Mudi Young Night event was filled with six activities, namely Gemilang Silang Monas, Jakarnaval, Main Stage of HI Roundabout, Kirana Jakarta, Jalan MH Thamrin Stage and Jalan Jenderal Sudirman Stage.

In the first segment Gemilang Silang Monas will display video screenings, dancing fountains, entertainment and so on.

Then, to the southwest of Monas, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI established a opening stage called Jakarnaval (Jakarta Karnival). This year's Jakarnaval theme is "Indonesian Legend Intellectual Property" (IP) based character or intellectual property-based character from the works of the nation's children.

Jakarnaval will also feature various ornamental cars with attractive lights and decorations made by the nation's children such as Sri Asih, Si Juki, Si Unyil, Si Blind from Hantu Cave and Satria Dewa Gatotkaca.

Furthermore, along Jalan MH Thamrin such as in the Sarinah area and the HI Roundabout. Various interesting entertainment in Sarinah will feature entertainment, acoustic stage, and sculptured human artwork.
