JAKARTA - National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said 431 corruption cases were revealed during 2023. Hundreds of these cases caused state losses to reach Rp3.6 trillion.

"Successfully uncovering 431 cases with state losses of Rp3.6 trillion, and carrying out asset recovery of Rp909 billion," said Sigit during a year-end release (RAT) at the National Police Headquarters, Wednesday, December 27.

Although asset returns are still considered far from the state loss rate, Sigit said when compared to the previous period, it actually increased quite high.

"If asset recovery is compared to the total state losses, in 2023 it will increase by 22.4 percent compared to 2022," he said.

In terms of suspects, the number has also increased by around 228 suspects compared to 2022. Because, in the 2023 period, around 887 people were named as suspects in corruption cases.

Regarding the optimization of the eradication of corruption, Sigit said that the National Police has a task force or saber extortion task force in collaboration with other ministries and institutions. That way the handling of cases is maximized than before

"Where performance achievements get many improvements when compared to 2022, both on intelligence, prevention, justice action, and confiscation of evidence," said Sigit.
